Utah nose tackle Lowell Lotulelei was one of eight players to sign with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent immediately following the draft earlier this month.
However, Lotulelei’s NFL career has turned out to be rather brief. According to Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com, Lotulelei informed the Broncos of his intention to retire from playing football. Instead, Lotulelei intends to pursue a coaching career instead.
Denver waived Lotulelei on Monday.
According to Mike Klis of 9NEWS, Lotulelei returned the $15,000 he received as a signing bonus to the Broncos upon informing them of his decision to walk away from the game.
It just makes me happy that I’m here now because of everything I went through in Tampa. A lot of people don’t know how hard it is to go through a concussion every single day. It sucks.
Frazier suffered a concussion running into an outfield wall during a Feb. 24 Grapefruit League game in Bradenton, Fla., and didn’t begin his season until beginning a rehab assignment with Class A Tampa on April 26.
The Celtics got thumped next.
James had 27 points and 12 assists, Kevin Love added 14 rebounds and the Cavaliers looked like a different team on their home court, tightening the Eastern Conference finals with a 116-86 victory in Game 3 over Boston on Saturday night.
Outplayed during two losses in Boston, the Cavs used a three-day break in the series to regroup and re-grip this series. With James leading the way, they built a 19-point lead in the first quarter, pushed it to 30 in the second half and overpowered the Celtics, who fell to 1-5 on the road in the postseason.
Any discussion of Cleveland’s demise is premature. Kyle Korver made four of the team’s 17 3-pointers, six players scored in double figures and the Cavs, who have spent the season seeking chemistry and cohesion, were connected defensively.
